Lobster Bake 1st Birthday Party Theme - Hudson County Moms

Lobster Bake First Birthday Party Theme-

Can you believe your little love is already one year old?! I know, it feels like yesterday when you brought them home for the first time. Looking back on that year, I couldn’t believe how fast it went. People are not kidding when they say time flies when you’re a parent.

But you know what? I’m so grateful for all the memories and experiences that my son has brought into my life. Seeing him grow and learn has been a very wild yet fun journey. As much as it can be a little bittersweet watching him grow up so quickly, each new stage of growth brings its own set of joys and challenges. I’m excited to see what the future has in store for him.

We celebrated our sons’ Roman’s first birthday with close friends and family. Living in Manhattan at the time we weren’t sure what to do exactly. We always said we would not be the parents that would throw the “over the top” first birthday party. Whelp- things changed (in my head) and there we were- he was turning one and it had to be special. We ended up renting a house in Long Beach Island for a long weekend in September. I thought a lobster bake would be the perfect way to celebrate the end of an Indian Summer for his birthday as well as a mini family photo session on the beach ( I mean if we are doing it- let’s do it, right??)

So- Lobster for dinner? Yes, please!

But why stop at the plate when you can extend the fun into the tablescape? With the bold red color and unmistakable charm, lobster-themed accents bring a relaxed and whimsical coastal vibe to any space- whether you live by the ocean (or rent) or just dream of salty breezes and seaside feasts.

Choose pieces that blend with your style while adding a splash of lobster-themed charm. Hydrangeas always take me back to summer, where their big, beautiful blooms line coastal cottages. You can’t beat the old-school charm of newspaper. Just layer it over your table runner, and when the last claw is cracked, you can wrap it all up and toss it out- cleanup at its finest.

Roman’s amazing Birthday Cake & Baby Smash Cake were from the Dimares’ Pastry Shop in Stamford, Connecticut (yes, IFKYK- I still dream of their carrot cake on the weekly) … Thankfully my college besties were able to grab it for me on their way down.

If you are truly in between having that over the top first birthday party … Do it! I’ll back you up with the decision! Not sure they will remember it- but you will.
