How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have a 3-year-old daughter. Her name is Ahana
How long have you lived in Hudson County? What made you decide to live here?
I have been in Jersey City for 6 years now. We moved to JC for my husband’s job and I love it here.
What’s your favorite family activity in Jersey City?
It’s tough to say what I love the most. But my top two favorites are Liberty Science Center and a family picnic at Lincoln Park
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?
I love food from Ani Ramen and Rasoi Indian Cuisine
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
When I was little, I convinced my sister that she is a turtle and she goes near the beach, the waves would take her back. On our beach vacation, she stayed away and I was the one playing with all the toys and building sandcastles.
What are you doing to stay sane during Covid for yourself?
I started taking regular baths during Covid and I felt that’s the best thing I have ever done to myself. It relaxes your mind and body and fills you with new energy. I used to take 2-3 baths a week, but now moving back to the sustainable practice of taking short showers.
Any tips or recommendations for parents to entertain/educate their children during this time?
I got Ahana creative in small ways. She cooks with me, cleans the house, helps me to make products, and packages them. I think it’s important to get them to know household chores and make them a part of everything. We always do our art projects together.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My mom. She has been my pillar of strength and navigated me through the initial days of motherhood.

I am very involved in the community. I serve as a board member of Sustainable Jersey City, and actively involve myself with JCFamilies and JC Women’s Collaborative.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Community support means a lot to me. When I started, I contacted various local businesses for pop-ups and everyone welcome me with love and support.
