Meet a Mom: Meg Buzzio | Hudson County Moms

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have 2 girls. Josephine “Joey” who is 2.5 years and Alessandra “Alex” who is 8 months.

How long have you lived in Your Town/Hudson County? What made you decide to live here?
We have lived in Union City for 12 years! We made the move when I started working in NYC and
my husband was splitting time between NYC and Hackensack.

What’s your favorite family activity in Hudson County?
We love visiting all the playgrounds and parks and we love
Liberty State Park for picnics, working out, and walks. The Liberty Science Center is also a go-to
for a fun adventure.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?
We are a little biased towards my husband’s restaurant Corto in the Heights,
but we also love Bread and Salt, Low Fidelity for cocktails, Riverview Wine for unique alcohol options,
Dozzino in Hoboken for some awesome pizza, and Chofi Taco in Union City is one block away and has
been a Covid staple for us weekly!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I have a blood disorder that made it difficult to have children initially. But once I found my amazing
team of doctors who assured me it was an easy fix, I was pregnant within months! Infertility is a
struggle for so many and it’s a club no one wants to be a part of, but so many of us are.

What are you doing to stay sane during Covid for yourself?
Working out has been my mental stability through Covid. I am a better mom, a better wife, and
a better human when I can get a good sweat in!

Any tips or recommendations for parents to entertain/educate their children during this time?
I am so lucky to have some amazing teachers in my life that guided me to some awesome
websites and learning tools for my 2 year old. I try to stay on a schedule and we complete letters,
numbers, and colors daily. We also try to get outside everyday. Whether it’s the park, or just around
the block its important for kids to get their energy out. We also did some virtual music classes, dance
classes, and yoga throughout Covid.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I would not have the ability to be a working mom without my husband, parents, and in-laws.
They sacrifice so much to help us out and I am forever grateful.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I created MB Fit this past summer with a newborn and 2 year old at home. After coming to the realization
that the world would not be going back to normal anytime soon, but still wanting to help my clients and
the community I jumped into this venture. It’s extremely challenging balancing work life and mom life,
but I try to set days/times aside for work and the other time I spend with my family.
My husband and family are my rocks. They ARE the reason I am able to do what I do.
But also throughout the years I have met so many inspiring friends who are able to balance
impressive careers and family. These are the men and woman who continue to guide and push me
to become the best version of Myself.
