Meet Kate Nazario of Compassionate Counseling! - Hudson County Moms

Hi Moms!

My name is Kate and I’m a mommy to a sassy, independent 20 month old! I’m also a Licensed Professional Counselor in NJ and have been on both ends of the therapy spectrum – as a client and professional. I struggled with my own postpartum anxiety after the birth of my daughter in April 2019. It is still a challenge and even with my background I didn’t realize I was going through it until several months later.

As I work in the school system, I’ve witnessed the very obvious effect the pandemic has had on the children and parents I work with – especially moms who have recently given birth. COVID has forced us into isolation, but you don’t have to be alone. I recently opened a private practice, Compassionate Counseling, via telehealth to support children, adolescents, families and caregivers in the NJ community. I specialize in providing therapy to children, adolescents and adults who struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Parenting Skills, and Maternal Mental Health (postpartum mental health). My approach utilizes creativity, humor, and evidenced-based techniques that help empower individuals and families. I work hard to create a safe and nurturing environment to help individuals work through thoughts and feelings which may be keeping them stuck and ensure a feeling of support as they continue to grow and reconnect to their strengths.

Once the pandemic has started to stabilize, I will open an office with the option of in-person sessions but will continue telehealth if requested. I would love to connect with you and provide the support we are all in need of. Please feel free to visit my website or reach out at any time. Hoping everyone is staying healthy and happy during this difficult time 🤗
