How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have 3 amazing, a bit crazy, kids- 12,10, and 4.
My oldest is my only girl, Michaella, and 2 boys Gregory and Simon.
How long have you lived in Jersey City? What made you decide to live here?
I’m a Canadian- I moved to JC 15 years ago chasing the love of my life, Amir who grew up here! We talk about leaving to the suburbs all the time but we just love this city and can’t seem to leave!!
What’s your favorite family activity Jersey City?
We love exploring the new restaurants, and especially in the newly budding neighborhood where my husband spent his childhood days- the Heights.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?
Our favorite place to eat is Rumba Cafe and Dulce de Leche in the Heights or Hooked JC in BeLa, but we LIVE for daily stops at ModCup for the dredger and an occasional treat at BANG cookies! But most of our money goes to Wonder Bagels!
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a Canadian.
I love to lift heavy weights. I train at the gym and have a Peloton at home.
I’m actually quite the introvert and will always prefer to be home, snuggled in bed with my kids watching a movie!
‘They’ call me the baby whisperer because I can calm any child down in 15 seconds or less.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My Husband!!! He has been present from that moment in the delivery room for all 3 of my births and hasn’t stopped since!! Before I even held my children, he got to see them make their entrance and his tearful expression is forever etched in my heart. His love for us exudes in his actions. He is up at the crack of dawn making lunches, folding laundry, taking the kids to/from school, schlepping them to their activities, I mean, what doesn’t he do??! And it’s all done with a smile and grace. Man, I lucked out!!
Also, my mom taught me everything I know and really helped mold my parenting style. Now, with my career, I find myself educating new parents on more than just baby development, but general parenting tips and tricks that I got from her! It’s been so rewarding!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I am a pediatric Physical therapist and I have been a PT for over 20 years. I am the owner of In-Home pediatric PT of NJ. I had worked in JC for 10 years in various areas-the schools, JCMC, private clinics.
After the birth of my third son, I started to really appreciate the need for more convenience for parents who work long hours, and have itty bitty newborns at home that don’t want to be bringing them to germ-infested hospitals and public waiting rooms.
We offer the unique service of coming to YOU! In your home, when you want, at a convenient time for baby. I also offer sessions in my office.
Our business model is unique and the word of mouth referrals never cease to amaze me!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community has been everything! I love going to speak at the local mommy groups. I love the support they show one another and the local businesses online as well. We are so lucky to have so many small businesses who support each other and want to see you thrive!
Thank you so much to Dr. Giselle, she is an amazing resource for new moms and their little ones!
